Vehicle Tracking System

Assalamualaikum and Hello everyone!

Welcome to my first entry. Last week my lecturer, Associate Professor Dr. Norzaidi Haji Mohd Daud taught us a little bit about Vehicle Tracking System.

Honestly, this is the first time I heard about it. The system is so interesting and make me wonder how it works. Therefore, I have decided to dig more about it and share the information here.

What is Vehicle Tracking System & How it Works??

Vehicle Tracking System
Vehicle Tracking System (VTS) is purposely to track the vehicle's location in the field. The vehicle must be installed with a specific device called the Geographical Positioning System (GPS) which is able to transfer all information needed from the vehicle to the fleet management centre as soon as possible.

Even though the fleet management centre is far away from the vehicle but surprisingly they can know the vehicle’s position, the vehicle’s fuel level, the content’s level in the vehicle, the driver’s speed, is the driver use the right route or violate it and many more only from their fingertips!!!

The GPS device collects the data from the vehicle and transmits it via GPS’s satellite or cellular network. After that, the GPS device transfer the data to the hosted application. The owner of the vehicle can see the information clearly such as real-time vehicle tracking updates, including location, direction, speed, idle time, start/stop and much more. This give advantage to the owner where it allow them to manage a tighter schedule and be more efficient.

What is The Benefits Using Vehicle Tracking System??
